
Cornet And Roussel Win TELUS Player Of The Week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, November 30, 2009 - Rouyn-Noranda Huskies forward Philippe Cornet and Shawinigan Cataractes defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel today were named the TELUS offensive and defensive players of the week for the period extending from November 23 to 29.
Cornet wins the award for the second time this month after registering two goals and six helpers in two Huskies wins. Moreover, he posted a +4 rating. The 19-year-old left-winger collected a career-high five points in a 9-4 victory over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar on Saturday. Cornet is second in the QMJHL scoring standings with 45 points in 30 games.
Gabriel Lévesque (Huskies), Mike Hoffman (Sea Dogs) and Nicholas Petersen (Sea Dogs) were also considered.
Roussel earns the award on the defensive end. In three Cataractes wins, the St-Eustache native scored two goals, including a game-winner, and added three assists. Furthermore, he posted a +3 rating. Roussel was especially stellar on Wednesday, collecting three points in a 9-4 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs. Shawinigan has won its last five games.
Mark Barberio (Wildcats), Marco Cousineau (Rocket) and Olivier Dame-Malka (Titan) were also considered.
