Corbeil-Thériault, Comtois, Devos and Hertzberg traded before deadline

BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, January 6, 2011 - The trade floodgates opened this morning with a number of teams making moves prior to the noon (EST) trade deadline.

The Sea Dogs and the Mooseheads flipped goaltenders. Halifax sent Mathieu Corbeil-Thériault (91-09-27) to Saint John for Frédéric Piché (91-08-12) and a third round pick in 2012. The Mooseheads also sent Jamie Bishop (93-03-14) to the Océanic for a third round pick in 2012.

The Juniors acquired Raphael Pouliot (91-04-16) from the Cataractes for second and fifth round picks in 2011. Moreover, they obtained the services of Alex Lemieux (92-12-26) from the Mooseheads for a third round pick in 2012. Montreal pulled the trigger on a trade involving Jean-Laurence Beauchemin (91-02-19) whom they acquired from the Rocket for a fifth round pick in 2011. Finally, they traded Denis Kindl (92-08-04), a second round pick in 2012 and a first round pick in 2013 to the Screaming Eagles for Viktor Hertzberg (91-04-23).

The Tigres sent the top point-getter in the QMJHL, Philip-Michaël Devos (90-04-26), as well as a third round pick in 2013 to the Olympiques for Benjamin Laliberté (93-08-02), first and second round picks in 2011 and a first round selection in 2012. The Tigres also acquired defenseman Troy Vance (93-08-02) from the Huskies for an eighth round pick in 2012 while getting Guillaume Naud (92-12-02) and a fifth round pick in 2011 from the Foreurs for a fourth round pick in 2011. Victoriaville sent Anthony Goulet (92-02-11) to Halifax for a fourth round pick in 2012 and then acquired Charles-Antoine Roy (92-01-23) from Rimouski for a fifth round pick in 2011 and a first round pick in the 2012 Import Draft.

Kyle Campbell (93-12-01) and a fifth round pick in 2011 are now the properties of the Screaming Eagles following a trade with the Remparts. In return, they received Brandon Boutilier (93-07-01) and a fifth round pick in 2011. The Screaming Eagles also sent Jean-Sébastien Fournier (91-07-23) to the Rocket for a fifth round pick in 2011 and a third round pick in 2012. The Cataractes traded Marc-André Kaiser (92-05-22) and Dany Potvin (92-03-11) to the Screaming Eagles for a sixth round pick in 2012.

The Voltigeurs brokered a deal with the Huskies by sending Alexandre Comtois (92-04-26) to Rouyn-Noranda for Jérôme Raymond (92-02-02). The Voltigeurs also acquired Julien Levasseur (91-10-09) from the Océanic for a third round pick in 2012 and then both teams swapped upcoming picks with Rimouski sending their first round pick in the 2011 Import Draft to Drummondville for a seventh round selection in 2011.

The Drakkar sent Michael Morin (93-05-02) to Rimouski for an eighth round pick in 2011. Baie-Comeau obtains Gabriel Carignan (93-06-28) and Hugo Laporte (90-03-23) from Olympiques for a third round pick in 2011.

The Huskies acquired Pierre-Karl Marion (92-06-21) from the Saguenéens for an eleventh round selection in 2012.

Finally, the Titan traded Connor Gagnon (92-10-11) to the Foreurs for an eighth round pick in 2012.
