FRISCO, Texas (Friday, March 30, 2007) - Today, the Cartoon Network will begin airing a live-action and animation Public Service Announcement (PSA) that features two of the premier young players in Major League Soccer - FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper and Real Salt Lake midfielder Freddy Adu. The PSA was created in support of Cartoon Network's ongoing healthy lifestyles initiative GET ANIMATED, which sends the message for kids to "get up and become a part of the action."
Cooper and Adu will face off in the season opener on Sat., April 7, when FCD visits RSL at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City at 5 p.m. CT live on FSN SW.
Along with Kenny and Freddy, the PSA spot features two stars from Cartoon Network's #1 action-adventure original series, BEN 10: "Ben Tennyson" and "Four-Arms".
The PSA is currently scheduled to begin airing nationally on Friday, April 6 and run for approximately 90 days.
The spot will be placed in random rotation within Cartoon Network's on-air schedule for a full three months.
The spot can be expected to appear anywhere from 7-21 times per week, depending upon the network's promotional schedule, which varies from week to week.
The spot also will appear online at CartoonNetwork.com, and in a Spanish version at CartoonNetworkYA.com
Kenny and Freddy shot the PSA at Pizza Hut Park on Nov. 13, 2006.
