
Cooper Strikes in Williamsport Debut as Outlaws Top Privateers

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The fans of Williamsport didn't have to wait long to see the what Kevin Cooper can bring to the Outlaws when he posted two points, including the first goal of the night in the Outlaws 3-0 win over the 1000 Island Privateers Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first period, Cooper was able to find the twine behind Privateers goaltender Matt Anthony for his first goal as a Williamsport Outlaw. The goal came at the 16:57 mark of the 2nd period on the power play. The assists were credited to Nathan Oke and Jeff Winchester.
The Outlaws would enjoy a 1-0 lead entering the second intermission behind solid defensive play and stout goaltending by Chris Whitley between the pipes.
Cooper's second point would come in the third period on the power play again, when he would feed Trevor Karasiewicz who rifled a shot pass across the crease to a wide open Jeff Winchester, who buried his 3rd goal of the season.
The assist was Karasiewicz's league leading 19th and his team leading 20th point. It also extended his point streak to a team high six games after Matt Smyth failed to record a point, officially ending his 11 game point streak.
Jamie Zaleski would tally his 5th goal of the season later in the third period from Martin Moucha and Mike MacIntyre at the 12:50 mark. The assist extend Moucha's point streak to four games.
Chris Whitley would earn his first shutout of the season, making 25 saves on the 25 shots faced against the Prtivateers.
The Outlaws travel to 1000 Islands to face the Privateers tomorrow night. If the Outlaws win, they will overtake the Privateers for second place in the FHL.
