Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - At halftime of Tuesday night's Nashville SC match against Toronto FC II, Cooper Steel presented a $5,000 check to Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt as part of Nashville SC's GOAL Program.
For this season, Cooper Steel partnered with Nashville SC to donate to the hospital for every Nashville SC goal scored in USL play.
"Any time we have the opportunity in the community to partner with two incredible groups like Nashville SC and certainly the Children's Hospital, we relish that opportunity and we don't take that lightly, regardless of what that commitment looks like," said Jason Zinser, communications and marketing director for Cooper Steel. "Tonight is an extremely special opportunity because it's a $5,000 donation and we couldn't be prouder of our partners and knowing it's going to the right people at the right time."
In addition to the partnership, Nashville SC players and staff have made numerous visits to Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Seacrest Studios provides entertainment on closed-circuit televisions to all patients in the hospital and gives patients the chance to interact with Nashville SC players in a fun, friendly environment.
The partnership is a part of Nashville SC's strong investment in the Nashville community even in its inaugural season.
"One of the special things about soccer for us is its ability to galvanize a community, both international and domestic with a lot of really passionate soccer fans," Zinser said. "So as soon as we knew this was a first-year club and this was happening, we were really excited to jump on board and the fact that we're doing it at this level in year one is really encouraging. We hope this is something we continue to grow."
