
Cook Takes Reins As Yard Dawgz GM

OKLAHOMA CITY-The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of arenafootball2 have announced Assistant General Manager Christie Cook has assumed the role of General Manager for the franchise.
Cook replaces Bob Cortese who is pursuing other professional opportunities. The 30-year old has been with the Yard Dawgz since their inaugural 2004 season. The University of Oklahoma graduate earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Sports Sciences in 1999 and her Master of Science degree in Sports Management in 2002. She began her arena football career working in marketing and promotions with the Oklahoma Wranglers of the AFL.
"The Yard Dawgz have become one of the premier franchises within the arenafootball2 league, and I'm very excited to be part of the organization's continued growth," Cook said. "I'm looking forward to continued success in the front office as well as on the football field. We'll keep striving to provide affordable, fan friendly, competitive arena football in our quest to bring the ArenaCup to Oklahoma City."
"In all of my 15 years in the sports industry, Christie is as qualified as any General Manager that I have worked with. I look forward to this journey with Christie and watching her succeed in all of her endeavors," Jeff Lund, Yard Dawgz owner commented.
The Yard Dawgz have qualified for the af2 playoffs each of their three years of existence. The team had its best mark of 11-5 in 2006.
