Construction bids for the renovation of historic Simmons Field were opened to the public at 2 pm Thursday at Kenosha City Hall. Out of four bidders, Camosy Construction of Kenosha, was awarded the project after submitting the low bid for the City of Kenosha Public Works project. The project is a complete renovation to the 83-year old stadium including two new concrete grandstands, dugouts and brick interior walls. The new Simmons Field will feature approximately 2,160 major league stadium seats from Baltimore's Camden Yards. Construction is scheduled to start the second week of June.

Please stay tuned to www.kenoshabaseball.com for more information on a ceremonial groundbreaking at Simmons Field in early June. The team will also be holding a free public event in late August to unveil stadium renovations and the name and logo of Kenosha's newest team.

Kenosha Baseball is members of the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013, the League will celebrate its 20th season.
