Albany Firebirds News Release
ALBANY, NY â The 2002 Northeast Division Champion, Albany ConQuest, are joining forces with Clearchannel Communications, specifically KISS FM 102.3, PYX 106.5 FM and SportsTalk 980, to begin their off-season promotional campaign throughout the Capital Region.
The ConQuest Prize Patrol has already made several stops at local high school football games over the past three weeks giving away tickets, prizes, autographs and lots of other cool giveaways. Fans can vote for their favorite high school football player in the race for the ConQuest 2002 High School Ironman of the Year presented by KISS FM 102.3. All Section II coaches will be nominating a player from their team that they feel best exemplifies the Ironman nature of arena football. Once all nominees are received, the fans will be able to vote either on the ConQuest website or at the Prize Patrol appearance for their favorite candidate. Check the team's newly designed website for the upcoming schedule of games.
The ConQuest will also be out every Sunday, along with PYX 106.5 FM, at local restaurants and sports bars, watching all the NFL action and giving away more prizes and tickets. PYX 106.5 raffles off tickets to ConQuest games, as well as trips to see the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. Coors Light is on hand with great beer specials, and ConQuest players are always hanging around interacting with the crowd and signing autographs.
Finally, on Monday nights you can find Rodger Wyland, of Sports Talk 980AM, at the Across the Street Pub on Western Avenue in Albany giving away ConQuest gear and merchandise to all of the loyal fans in attendance for the Monday Night Football pre-game show. The show runs from 7:00pm until kickoff at 9:00pm. Food and drink specials are available and ConQuest trivia is sure to get your arena football juices flowing.
The ConQuest are stacking their schedule during the off-season and trying to improve on what was a banner year for the expansion franchise in the community. Albany's af2 franchise claimed the league award in 2002 for "Best Community Program" for the Quest Kids Program, an initiative which incorporated over 2,000 children during the inaugural season.
Season tickets are now available for the 2003 season. You can order them by calling 487-2222 or visit the ConQuest website at www.albanyconquest.com. Season tickets start as low as $54, with flex packages also available.
