
Brigade to Host Open Tryouts for 2003 Team

Rochester Brigade News Release
(Rochester, N.Y.)-Head coach Mark Saunders announced that open tryouts for the 2003 Rochester Brigade team will be held on Friday, December 6, and Friday, December 13. Tryouts on the date of the December 6th are for skilled players ONLY, which includes quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs. Tryouts on December 13th are for the linemen, linebackers and fullbacks.
"This is a chance to evaluate what talent will better our team," commented Saunders. "We still have a lot to accomplish next season, and I encourage everyone to come out and participate."
Tryouts will be held at Total Sports Experience, 881 Elmgrove Road, with registration beginning at 9:00 am. The cost is $35 for each participant, which includes drill work and a t-shirt. Following registration, tryouts will start promptly at 10:00 am and conclude at 3:00 pm for both open tryout dates. Pre-registration is available by stopping at the Brigade office between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The Brigade office is located at the ESL Sports Centre on the MCC Campus, 2700 Brighton-Henrietta TL Rd.
Saunders added, "I'm looking for those diamonds in the rough, and I'm hopeful that we'll find those individuals during our tryout."
All participants must be properly equipped with turf shoes/tennis shoes, athletic shorts/sweat pants and a t-shirt. The tryouts will consist of timing drills in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and various other drills to evaluate each athlete's true abilities.
