
Conquest Open Training Camp This Afternoon

Albany, N.Y., March 20, 2005 â The Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 will begin their 2005 Training Camp on Monday, March 21 at Afrim's Sports located at 636 Albany-Shaker Road in Colonie, N.Y. The first practice will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Head Coach Richard Davis and the players will be available to the media from 2:00 p.m. â 3:00 p.m. and again at the conclusion of practice. The Conquest will play their home opener on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers at Pepsi Arena.
Coach Davis is excited to begin his first Albany camp. "This group of players we have entering camp are extremely talented and possess the attributes that I believe we need to be successful this season," he said. "Our fans have much to look forward to and this squad is going to bring a championship brand of Arena Football to the Capital Region."
This season's training camp schedule will include three days of practices in Pepsi Arena on March 29, 30 and 31. Camp will conclude following the March 31 practice session when Coach Davis will pare down his roster to 22 players. Morning practices are closed to the public and the media but afternoon training camp sessions held at Afrim's Sports will be open to the public. The March 30 afternoon session held at Pepsi Arena will also be open to the public. A complete training camp schedule is listed below.

The Conquest returns some familiar names to camp led by QB D. Bryant, who had a breakthrough rookie season, throwing 52 touchdown passes in just 13 games played. Other returnees include Terrell Black (OL/DL), area resident Vinny Cirrincione (K), Travis Coleman (DS), Thomas Herron (OL/DL), and Jeff Higgins (WR/LB).
Top newcomers with arenafootball2 experience include Martino Theus (WR/DB), Jerald Burley (Offensive Specialist), Karleton Thomas (OL/DL), Marco McGee (OL/DL), Donte Wells (Defensive Specialist), and Ricardo Dyson (OL/DL).
