Bakersfield Condors News Release

The Bakersfield Condors today announced their 2010-11 regular season schedule. The 16th season of professional hockey in Bakersfield, 13th as the Condors, will commence on Saturday, Oct. 16 against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

The 72-game regular season schedule opens the third weekend in October and wraps up the first weekend of April. The Condors will play just one game during the ECHL's opening weekend, and then take to the road for the next three. They close the season with four straight away from Rabobank Arena, where they posted a team record 25 home wins during the 2009-10 campaign. The schedule features a nine-game homestand in March, as well as an eight-game homestand in November. The Condors will also head to the Eastern Time Zone for the first time in three seasons when they travel to Ohio for a three-game trip in early December. There they will take on the Toledo Walleye twice and battle the reigning Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones once.

The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic will take place in Bakersfield on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Rabobank Arena, and it comes in the midst of the longest stretch of road games of the season.

Two of the most popular annual promotions already have dates penciled in, with the Businessperson's Special/Field Trip Day Game slated for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 against Victoria, and Teddy Bear Toss on the docket for Nov. 27 against the Utah Grizzlies. Condors fans will see Ontario at home more times (eight games) than any other opponent, and the first home game against the National Conference Champion Idaho Steelheads is Jan. 7. A home preseason game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 9, with opponent to be announced later.

"Our fans already seem fired up for the 2010-11 season to get started," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "Between the buzz from last season's division championship and the anticipation of the All-Star Game coming to Condorstown this season, we can feel the excitement in the air. We'll be working hard this summer and look forward to a great 2010-11 season!"
