Mark Rogondino, the voice of the San Diego Sockers, will be providing commentary.

Chicago will be allowed to draft a maximum of 16 players, including two goalkeepers, from the current MISL rosters. Each team in the league has submitted a protected list of 11 players that Chicago is not allowed to draft. Current MISL teams may lose a maximum of three players. Once a player is selected from an existing team, the team will be allowed to return one unprotected player to its protected designation lists.

Indoor Soccer's Growth Continues

Indoor soccer was one of the top ten team sports played by Americans in 2003, according to SGMA International's "Sports Participation Topline Report." Results of the study were recently published in Goal Indoors, the official magazine of the United States Indoor Soccer Association. Indoor Soccer finished as the tenth most popular sport-- ahead of cheerleading, fast-pitch softball, ice hockey and lacrosse.

The study has been conducted since the late 1980's, but 2003 was the first year that indoor soccer was included on the list. SGMA estimated that 4.6 million Americans played indoor soccer (combined from several categories to rate frequency, level and location of participation) in 2003.

Mike May, director of communications at SGMA, was quoted as saying, "Indoor soccer has become a program that we have to recognize. There's enough play out there to make it an activity we need to track. Indoor soccer has received increased media coverage, and the sport is only going to grow."
