Kansas City Comets News Release
The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Monday that Comets forward Jamar Beasley has been named the MISL's Rookie of the Year. Beasley was also honored recently as a member of the MISL's All-Rookie Team. The award will be presented formally to Beasley at the Comets' first home game of the 2004-05 regular season.
"We're so pleased that Jamar was able to receive this award," said Head Coach Zoran Savic. "We look forward to his contributions to the success of our organization in the years to come."
Beasley enjoyed immediate success with the Comets. In the Comets' season opener in October, Beasley posted a goal and an assist for his first two points in the MISL. Beasley went on to play all 36 regular season games and appeared in both post-season contests. The 24-year-old finished the regular season with 31 goals and 15 assists for 46 total points.
Along with Comets' goalkeeper Sanaldo, Beasley was recently recognized on the MISL's All-Rookie Team. Comets defender Jeff Davis and forward Dino Delevski were named to the All-MISL Second Team.
