Kansas City Comets News Release


Kansas City continued to enjoy its early-season break, as they went a second consecutive weekend without games. The Comets will finally kick back into high gear on Friday, as they complete their seven-game road trip in Dallas at 7:05 PM. They will then return to the friendly confines of Kemper Arena the following evening, as they host the Cleveland Force on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 8:05 PM. All times are CST, and all games can be heard live on KCKN 1340AM in Kansas City.

Kansas City will continue their themed evenings on Saturday, as they present "Jungle Jam" Night, in conjunction with the Kansas City Zoo, and Friends of the Zoo. Live animals will be on exhibit and available for petting. Discounted memberships to the Friends of the Zoo will also be available.

Saturday is also Native American Night with the Comets. Larry Sellers, best known for his part on "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman', will be on hand to sign autographs and kick out the first ball. There will be several displays of Native American art and jewelry inside the arena as well, and the New Dawn Dancers will perform a traditional tribal dance at halftime, as part of the festivities.

11/26 – Practice, KC Soccerdome, 10AM to 12PM
11/27 – Practice, KC Soccerdome, 10AM to 12PM
11/28 – Practice, KC Soccerdome, 10AM to 11AM; Travel to Dallas
11/29 – At Dallas, 7:05PM
11/30 – Vs. Cleveland, 8:05PM

All team practices are closed to the public and media unless prior permission is received.

MISL WEEKLY AWARDS

Cleveland Force forward Giuliano Oliviero was named MISL Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending November 24, 2002. Oliviero scored three goals and an assist for seven points in one game this past week.

San Diego Sockers goalkeeper DJ Horvath has been named MISL Defensive Player of the Week, for the week ending November 24, 2002. Horvath went 1-0 on the week, stopping 22of 26 shots faced in the Sockers' win over Baltimore.

Kansas City Sports Enterprises is a privately held corporation created to manage and operate professional sports franchises and venues, and is the operating company of the Major Indoor Soccer League's Kansas City Comets. The Comets are charter members of the MISL and compete in the MISL Western Conference. Kansas City has been a continuous participant in professional indoor soccer since 1981.
