
Comets Sign Forward Brendan Woods to PTO

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson has announced that the club has signed forward Brendan Woods to a professional tryout contract.
Woods, 25, skated in 24 games with the Charlotte Checkers last season registering six points (3-3-6) and 41 penalty minutes. The Yorba Linda, CA native has totaled 195 career AHL games, all with Charlotte, amassing 64 points (30-34-64) and 223 penalty minutes. In addition, Woods has dressed in seven NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 6-3, 222-pound forward was selected by Carolina in the fifth round, 129th overall, at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
