Kansas City Comets News Release

Kansas City, MO - The Comets Professional Indoor Soccer Team today announced the signing of two players, each to 15-day contracts. Signed are forward and former Kansas City Wizards player, Will John, and defender, Jamie Harding.

Will John, a local product out of Overland Park, holds Rockhurst High School's single-season scoring record with 36 goals and 20 assists. After playing his college soccer at St. Louis University, the Chicago Fire selected John with the 18th pick in the 2nd round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. John would go on to lead the team in scoring in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. After one season with the Fire, he was then traded to his hometown team, the Wizards, where he would appear in four games with the club. John is currently a member of NK Yinogradar in Croatia. John will be in uniform Wednesday against the Baltimore Blast and wear #30.

Jamie Harding, an Oxnard Ventura, CA, native, played his college soccer at Kansas Newman College in Wichita, KS. Harding began his professional indoor soccer career with the Wichita Wings in 1996, where he would play five seasons with the team. Harding then moved on to play one season for the previous version of the Comets in Kansas City during the 2002-2003 season. Harding is a physical specimen who has trained with track star and 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, Maurice Greene, for a number of years. Harding will be in uniform Wednesday against the Baltimore Blast and wear #16.

"I've known Will his entire life," said Comets head coach, Kim Roentved. "He's a young, exciting and athletic player who has played in some of the top leagues around the world, while Jamie brings a no-nonsense, physical presence in the back for us."

The Comets next home game is tomorrow night, December 29th against the Baltimore Blast. Kick-off is at 7:35 p.m. at the Independence Events Center.
