Comets Close Regular Season in Chicago

February 26, 2013 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Kansas City Comets News Release

INDEPENDENCE, MO - As the final week of the Major Indoor Soccer League begins, the playoff picture begins to take focus. The Missouri Comets, along with the Baltimore Blast and Milwaukee Wave have each earned a spot in the tournament, with one spot still remaining. The Comets final regular season opponent, the Chicago Soul, currently holds onto the fourth and final place in the standings. This game holds importance for both teams. A win for Missouri assures them of the third seed in the playoffs and a date with the Milwaukee Wave for the third straight preseason. Chicago needs the win to keep its' playoff hopes alive.

The Comets will be without the services of Leo Gibson, who is serving a suspension following a red card received last Friday against the Soul. On Sunday, also without Gibson, Brian Harris and Mads Falck stepped up to secure the Comets victory over the Wichita Wings and the team's place in the postseason. To be successful in Chicago tomorrow, the Comets will look for more players to assert themselves. Jeff Richey, the goalkeeper for the Chicago Soul, has been difficult for the Missouri offense to solve. Last Friday night, he was six seconds away from shutting out the Comets for the first time in modern team history.

Gametime is scheduled for 7:00pm on Wednesday. Fans are invited to watch with the Comets Nation fan club at Coach's Bar & Grille, or they can tune in to the action on MISLNation.com

The Comets will return home for the MISL Semi-Final series on March 7th at 7:35pm. For information and tickets, fans can call 855.4KC.GOAL (855.452.4625) or visit CometsIndoorSoccer.com.
