Houston Comets News Release

HOUSTON - The Houston Comets announced today that five-time All-Star forward Tina Thompson has been activated for today's game against the Washington Mystics. Thompson had been on the team's injured list since the start of the season following the birth of her child in May. In a related move, the Comets also placed Edwige Lawson on the injured list with Plantar Fasciitis. Start time for today's game is 12:00 PM at Toyota Center.

Thompson (6-2, USC ‘97) has averaged 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and .85 blocks in 232 career regular season games with the Comets. Last season, Thompson, who led the team in scoring for a second consecutive year, was named First-Team All-WNBA after finishing second in the league in scoring with a career-high 20.0 points per game. The former first overall selection in the 1997 draft finished tied for third in voting for last year's WNBA Most Valuable Player award.
