
Columbus Riverdragons Acquire Mark Mazur

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 16 â The Columbus Riverdragons of the National Basketball Development League have claimed center Marc Mazur and released forward DeMario Jones, according to an announcement today by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Riverdragons head coach Jeff Malone.
Mazur, a 6-10, 264-pound product of Detroit ('02), is a veteran of the D-League, having played for the Fayetteville Patriots last season. He played in 50 games (two starts) for the Patriots, averaging 13.3 minutes, 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds. Mazur most recently played in Poland.
Jones played in six games for the Riverdragons, averaging 11.3 minutes, 4.8 points and 1.0 rebound.
Mazur is expected to be in uniform when Columbus (2-8) is host to Huntsville (6-1) Friday at the Columbus Civic Center. He will wear jersey #7.
To fight hunger over the holiday season, the Riverdragons will be conducting a canned food drive at the Friday, December 19th and Saturday, December 20th games versus Huntsville. During these games, anyone who brings a canned good will receive a $12 ticket for $5. After the game on the 20 th , the Riverdragons will donate the canned goods they have collected to the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley , House of Mercy and the Valley Rescue Mission.
This Friday's game is highlighted by the the Rivvy D Bobblehead Giveaway. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a free Rivvy D bobblehead, courtesy of Sprint PCS. Sunday's contest features the Riverdragons License Plate Giveaway, courtesy of SunTrust. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Riverdragons license plate with the team's new logo.
