
Asheville Acquires Brandin Knight

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 16 â The Asheville Altitude of the National Basketball Development League has acquired Brandin Knight and released Andre Smith, according to an announcement today by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Altitude head coach Joey Meyer.
A 6-foot, 175-pound point guard, Knight was in vet camp this season with the Sacramento Kings before being released on Oct. 23. A University of Pittsburgh (â03) product, he averaged 32.9 minutes, 11.2 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game as a senior for the Panthers.
Smith played in eight games for Asheville, averaging 12.4 minutes, 3.6 points, 1.3 assists and 0.8 rebounds per game.
Knight, the younger brother of Washington Wizards guard Brevin Knight, is expected to play when Asheville travels to Roanoke on Saturday. He will wear jersey #20.
