
Columbus Picks Up Eric Williams

GREENVILLE, S.C. (December 3, 2002) â The Columbus Riverdragons have claimed forward Eric Williams from the National Development League available player pool, according to an announcement today by NBDL Executive Director Karl Hicks and Riverdragons Head Coach Jeff Malone. Columbus has also waived center Marcus Evans.
Williams, a 6-foot-8, 243-pound University of Massachusetts ('02) product, began the season with the Greenville Groove of the NBDL. He played in seven games before being released by the Groove, averaging 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Evans averaged 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in six games with the Riverdragons.
Williams is expected to play tonight when Columbus (3-4) hosts the North Charleston Lowgators (4-4) at the Columbus Civic Center. He will wear jersey number 44.
