Present for the presentation was Stephanie Jones, wife of Colonel Peter Jones Commander of the Sledgehammer Brigade who is currently deployed in Irag, and Columbus Lions owner John Hargrove.

In June of 2009, the Columbus Lions teamed up with Columbus State University, the National Infantry Museum, and the 3rd Brigade 3rd Infantry Division to host "3rd Brigade Night" at the Columbus Civic Center. The game capped a series of events that included a concert series, blood drive, and a jersey auction.

The giving spirit of the Armed Services Blood Program ensures life saving blood will be available for the military community at home and abroad. Blood donated to the ASBP is used to save troops injured in combat, those fighting illnesses like lukeima, sickle cell disease and many others.

This initiative is community teamwork at is best with Columbus State University, the National Infantry Museum, and the Columbus Lions offering their support and appreciation to the 3rd Brigade.
