Columbus Destroyers Host Fan Fest Events at Dispatch Ice Haus

COLUMBUS, OHIO - In celebration of the Columbus Destroyers upcoming appearance in ArenaBowl XXI where they will face the San Jose SaberCats at New Orleans Arena on Sunday, July 29 at 3 p.m. ET, The Dispatch Ice Haus is being temporarily transformed into the Dispatch "Field Haus" for three Fan Fest events presented by Giant Eagle and Color World.

The football turf will be down in the "Field Haus" starting Tuesday, July 24 for an official "Send Off" rally followed by a game-day Viewing Party and then a "Welcome Home" event on Monday, July 30. Free parking in the Nationwide Arena attached garage will be available for all three events. A complete schedule follows:

Tuesday, July 24 - 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Arena Bowl XXI "Send Off" - Come down to hear from Head Coach Doug Kay, meet the players, get autographs, and wish the Destroyers good luck against the SaberCats. Bruiser, The Bombshells and members of the Destroyers Spirit team will also be on hand for the festivities. Also at the rally, fans can pick up commemorative Destroyers ArenaBowl XXI window signs to display in support of the home team.

Sunday, July 29 - 3 p.m. (Doors open at 2:30 p.m.)

ArenaBowl XXI Viewing Party - Join fellow Destroyers fans along with The Bombshells and members of the Destroyers Spirit Team to watch the big game on ABC6 live from New Orleans on large projection screens. Enjoy food and beverages on the turf of the "Dispatch Field Haus." Tables and chairs will be set up on the floor, but fans are invited to bring their favorite tailgate chair for good luck! Register to win great prizes including autographed items and a pair of 2008 season tickets.

Monday, July 30 - 7:30 p.m. (Doors open at 7 p.m.)

"Welcome Home" Party - Join The Bombshells, Bruiser and members of the Destroyers Spirit to welcome the team back to Columbus. Players and Head Coach Doug Kay will address the crowd during the party.

Official Destroyers 2007 National Conference Champions and ArenaBowl XXI merchandise will be on sale at all events starting Tuesday. National Conference Champions t-shirts are currently available at The Blueline locations at Nationwide Arena and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

Deposits are being accepted now for 2008 Destroyers season tickets. From now until kick-off at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, new season ticket holders that place a full season deposit will receive a Destroyers ArenaBowl XXI New Orleans t-shirt and an AFL Football with each full season deposit. As a special offer for current season ticket holders, those who renew their tickets for the 2008 season prior to kickoff of ArenaBowl XXI will be guaranteed 2007 prices.
