
Colts Sign Former Tech Outfielder

San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, TX --- February 25, 2003 --- San Angelo Colts signed Jason Landreth, 6'2", 210 lb, outfielder to a 2003 contract. Landreth played collegiately at Texas Tech. In 1998, Landreth joined the Lubbock Crickets of the Texas-Louisiana League. He earned the league's Rookie-of-the-Year award after hitting .377 with 60 runs scored and 54 RBIs in 69 games.
Landreth signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in December 1998 and remained two years in their organization followed by two years at Salano in the Western League. During the 2002 season he hit .287, scored 63 runs, hit 27 doubles, 13 homeruns and drove in 71 runs in 86 games.
Landreth is penciled in as the centerfielder or designated hitter. He will report to spring training in San Angelo on April 26th.
