San Angelo, Texas - When it rains, it pours. For the third night in a row, the San Angelo Colts are postponed due to unplayable field conditions and the anticipated forecast of rain.
The Colts were scheduled to begin a four-game series against the Edinburg Roadrunners tonight. Instead, they will open the series Thursday and play a doubleheader on Friday night.
"The rain we've gotten certainly has presented a challenge for us," general manager Dave Kost said. "It does appear, however, that the weather is going to cooperate for the remainder of this home stand. We need to get back on the field tomorrow night the weekend, which they are calling for comfortable temperatures and a dry forecast."
Thursday is a Thirsty Thursday/$1 Beer Night, sponsored by Miller Lite. Fans 21 and over can enjoy $1 draughts and $2 bottles all night long, courtesy of Miller Lite. There will also be live music immediately following the game. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
Friday is Koozie Giveaway Night. The first 500 fans through the front gates will receive a free koozie, courtesy of S & S Custom Silk Screening. Gates open at 5:05 p.m., and first pitch of game one is set for 6:05 p.m.
The Colts are in the midst of a 12-game home stand. The home stand runs from Tuesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 20, and in that time the Colts face the Fort Worth Cats, Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, and Edinburg Roadrunners. After this home stand, the Colts begin an eight-game road trip against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the Edinburg Roadrunners. The Colts then return home for their last 12-game home stand of the regular season on Tuesday, July 30.
