Colts Earn Walk-Off Win

San Angelo,Texas---- Designatedhitter Cory Patton drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to givethe San Angelo Colts a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the McAllen ThunderThursday night at Foster Field.

Right fielder J.J.Sherrill scored the winning run after reaching base on a third strike that gotpast Thunder catcher Giovanni Rosa. First baseman Daryl Jones followed Sherrillwith a base hit, and shortstop Landon Camp was intentionally walked by McAllen(0-2) reliever Kurt Houck.

Houck was taken outin favor of lefty Jason Moody. The southpaw delivered a four-pitch walk toPatton to end the game.

Houck (0-1)suffered the loss, allowing two runs in 1 1/3 innings of work.

Colts closer ErikDraxton (1-0) earned the win by virtue of pitching a scoreless top of theninth. Draxton struck out one and worked around a two-out walk.

Logan Williamsonstarted for the Colts (2-0) and took a no decision. Williamson allowed one runon just three hits and struck out six in five innings.

Third baseman JasonCrosland went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the fourth inning that scoredPatton. Patton went 1-for-3 with two walks, and the walk-off RBI.

The Colts andThunder play game three of their season-opening, four-game series Friday at7:05 p.m. at Foster Field. Righty Mark Willinsky will start for the Coltsopposite Thunder lefty Frank James.
