Colts Announce 2013 Schedule

San Angelo, Texas --- The San Angelo Colts announced Wednesday that they will play 80 games against five opponents, including one new franchise, this year. The regular season will run from late May into mid-August.

The 2013 United League is comprised of the Colts, the Fort Worth Cats, the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, the Edinburg Roadrunners, the McAllen Thunder and the new expansion Alexandria Aces of Alexandria, La. San Angelo will host each opponent at least once.

The Aces last played against the Colts in the 2008 United League Playoffs. From 2010 through 2012, the Aces were part of the Texas Collegiate League. Alexandria last had professional baseball in 2009, when the Aces were in the now-defunct Continental Baseball League.

The Colts begin this season on Thursday, May 23 against the WhiteWings at Harlingen Field. San Angelo's home opener at Foster Field is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 at 7:05 p.m. against Edinburg. The home opener will also be the first $2 Tuesday of the season.

Of San Angelo's 48 home games, eight are Thirsty Thursday $1 Beer Nights and another eight are $2 Tuesdays. Every Thursday at Foster Field is $1 Beer Night. Beers are $1 in the beer garden, and aluminum cans at the concession stand are just $2. For $2 Tuesdays, all general admission tickets, hot dogs, sodas, longneck beers, peanuts and popcorn are only $2.

In addition to the $1 Beer Nights and $2 Tuesdays, the Colts have 18 weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) home games. One home doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2 against Rio Grande Valley.

Game times are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 6:05 p.m. on Sundays. Gates for every Colts home game open one hour prior to first pitch. The full schedule is available online at www.sanangelocolts.com.
