
Colts Activate Gaines

San Angelo, Texas --- The Colts announced Saturday they have activated outfielder Ronnie Gaines, and placed fellow outfielder Jamar Walton on the Inactive List.
Gaines was on the Inactive List for San Angelo's four-game series against the Edinburg Roadrunners due to a coaching seminar in Waco. Gaines will be back in the lineup for the Colts' series opener against the McAllen Thunder tonight.
Gaines leads the team in batting average (.364), hits (68) and stolen bases (20), and is among the league leaders in all three categories. He also has five home runs and 26 RBIs in 43 games.
Walton returned home to Virginia during the Colts' series in Edinburg due to a death in the family. He hopes to return to San Angelo in time for the end of the team's four-game series against the Fort Worth Cats at Foster Field, which begins on Monday.
Walton is batting .309 with two homers and 30 RBIs in 45 games.
The Colts begin a two-game series against the McAllen Thunder tonight. It is be Glow-In-The-Dark Baseball Night, sponsored by AEP Texas. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will get a glow-in-the-dark Colts' baseball, courtesy of AEP Texas. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Colts are a member of United League Baseball who are in their 13th season. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
