Colorado Mammoth News Release
Denver, Colo. - The reigning division champion Colorado Mammoth is inviting local lacrosse talent to vie for a spot on the team when open tryouts are held October 19.
"There are a number of local schools with strong lacrosse traditions and quite a few nationally known players living in this area," said Steve Govett, Colorado Mammoth general manager. "Last year we had a terrific turnout and brought several players to training camp from the open tryouts."
Former University of Denver standout Geoff Bieging is one of the local players who made last year's Mammoth roster. The second all-time leading scorer in DU's history, Bieging participated in the tryout, made the team and traveled with the Mammoth.
Players participating in the open tryout must submit an application and $50 application fee by Monday October 6. Applications will be evaluated by the Colorado Mammoth coaching staff. Accepted players will be invited to the tryout by October 13. Players making the team or practice squad will have the application fee refunded.
All participants invited to the team tryouts must show proof of medical insurance, sign a Waiver and release and pass a physical examination by a team doctor on site.
Application information is available at ColoradoMammoth.com or by calling 303.405.1340.
