
Colorado Ice squeaks out a win against Cavalry, 51-50

Fort Collins, CO - Malcolm Williams (24) sealed the 51-50 win for the Colorado Ice with an interception from the Cavalry in the last seconds of the game.
In the first half the Colorado Ice dominated with 6 touchdowns by a plethora of players. This included Kyle Kaiser (8), Donald Fusilier (9), Willie Copeland (13), Jasonus Tillery and linebacker Joe Thornton (1) to lead 41-26 at the half. Thornton was named the Runza Player of the Game after running a kick off back for the touchdown and several other key defensive stops he made. He proves to be a vital part of the defense and more importantly the Ice's success this season.
The Wyoming Cavalry gained some momentum in the last five seconds of the first half by scoring two touchdowns and a two-point conversion and that continued into the second half as the Cavalry went on a scoring run that continued to tie the game at 44 with 6 minutes left in the game.
Colorado Ice receiver Fusilier (9) caught a touchdown pass with 2:16 left in the game to take the lead and gain the momentum back.
Due to technical difficulties stats are unavailable at the time of this release. This game saw the Ice get called for over 100 yards of penalties and a poor showing of the special teams with two blocked PATs that were turned into Wyoming touchdowns.
The Colorado Ice returns to the Budweiser Event Center Sunday, April 13th to take on the Tri-Cities Fever at 3:00 pm for Washington's Sports Bar and Grills Sunday Fun Day. The Winona Elementary Choir will be singing the National Anthem, the Ault VFW Post 4334 will be the color guard and the Loveland Youth Athletic Association will be fundraising with the Agfinity Football Toss.
