Colorado Ice Sets Record in Home Opener

Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice crush the Wyoming Cavalry 72-36 in their first home game of the 2012 season, setting a new team record for the most points scored in one game.

In the first quarter, the Ice jumped out to an early lead by scoring 3 rushing touchdowns; two by Running Back, Tobias Robinson (#22) and one by veteran QB, David Knighton (#5). Rookie kicker, Aric Goodman came out strong by hitting all 3 PATs.

The Cavalry's attempt at a comeback was quickly ended when the Ice scored 3 more touchdowns on a run by Andre Harris (#6) and two connections from Knighton (#5) to Wide Receiver, Jessie Poku (#85) to end the half.

The Ice started right where they left off. They began the second half scoring another touchdown on a pass from Knighton (#5) to Wide Receiver, Mark Henderson (#4). Knighton also ran the ball in for their second score of the quarter. Kicker, Aric Goodman (#9) contributed to the Ice's lead with 2 PATs and a 45 yard field goal.

The Ice began the fourth quarter with RB, Andre Harris' second rushing touchdown of the game. They ended their record setting night with another touchdown completion by from Knighton (#5) to Poku (#85).

QB, David Knighton was named Runza player of the week for his 6 touchdown performance.
