Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice host the three time defending champions Sioux Falls Storm in the Ice's home opener this Friday at 7:00 PM in the Budweiser Event Center, Loveland, CO.

While the Ice had a bye-week in the first week of the 2014 season the Storm has already made it past their first game jitters, defeating the Nebraska Danger 52-35 at home.

Because the Storm are three-time Champions there is that additional sense of urgency for the Ice aside from the importance of this being a home opener. Not to mention the fact that there will be 15 IFL rookies stepping foot on an IFL field for the first time.

The Colorado Ice welcome back quarterback Willie Copeland (13), receiver Kyle Kaiser (8), running back Dennis Kennedy (7), kicker Philip Welch (22), linebacker Joe Thornton (1), and defensive back Michael Eby (19) and Corey Sample (20).

They also welcome a familiar name in the Indoor Football League, Jasonus Tillery (88). Tillery played in the IFL since 2012 and had 1,051 yards and 27 touchdowns his first year, last year he played for several teams, ending his season with the Wyoming Cavalry.

Running back Jesse Lewis (28) has been one of the highlighted players to join the team and had two touchdowns in the preseason game. After his success with CSU Pueblo and the European League the Ice have high expectations for him to be a playmaker this season.

The quarterback competition has also been heated during camp with the addition of rookie, TJ Pryor (10). Pryor has exceeded expectations and has proved to be a flexible player after throwing four touchdowns and rushing for one touchdown. According to head coach Heron O'Neal, "Copeland has stepped up with the additional competition and has shown an increase in his leadership and performance."

After the Ice won the preseason game against the Pueblo Steel 100-7; the Colorado Ice hopes to see if the exuberance of talent will be as blatant this weekend.

The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado. 2014 ticket information is available by contacting the Colorado Ice offices at (970) 472-0128.
