Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice indoor football team held their first of three player tryouts for the 2009 season this past Sunday, October 26th at Fort Collins Indoor Soccer at OD's Sports Crossing in Fort Collins. Players from the Colorado area and across ten different states-even as far as Hawaii-participated in the tryouts. Prospective players were tested on position-specific drills as well as basics such as height, weight, bench press, and 40 yard dash.

Head Coach Collins Sanders stated, "My coaching staff and I were pleased with the high level of skill exhibited by the players who tried out. We had a large turnout of players that allowed us to pick from the best. Currently, five to six players discovered at the tryouts are under contract negotiation. Another ten or so players will be invited to the final, invite-only tryout in February for further evaluation."

The Colorado Ice will be holding a second, open-tryout and a third, invite-only tryout as well. Specific dates for the tryouts remain to be announced. In the meantime, the Colorado Ice cheerleaders- the Icicles- will be holding their open tryout for the 2009 season on Sunday, November 23rd from 9am-1pm at Fort Collins Pulse.
