Rio Rancho, New Mexico - The Colorado Ice fall to the New Mexico Stars, in a highly contested game at the Santa Ana Star Center with a score of 46 - 39.
In the first half the Ice put up 15 points starting with a safety after a botched field goal kick by New Mexico. Andre Harris (#6) rookie running back had a touchdown and rookie kicker Aric Goodman (#9) had a good first half with the PAT and two field goals.
After coming out in the second half with a touchdown from Knighton (#5) to Mark Henderson (#4) the Ice started the fourth quarter with a quick touchdown to Ken Witter (#18). Kicker Aric Goodman (#9) has another field goal in the fourth. With one minute left in the game the Ice score with a touchdown from Knighton (#5) to Reynard Reynolds (#15), his first with the Ice.
The Ice attempts an onside kick twice and are denied. New Mexico ends the game kneeling it on the 5 yard line. The Runza player of the game is rookie kicker Aric Goodman (#9) going perfect for the night on PATs and Field Goals.
The Colorado Ice have their Home Opener on Sunday, March 4th on Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Cowbell courtesy of Nice Car Inc.
