
Colorado Ice Battle to Defeat the Nebraska Danger 41-28

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice fight for a well-deserved 41-28 win against the Nebraska Danger. The Danger scored first with a field goal however the Ice maintained the lead until late in the third quarter. After that both teams were in reach of a win however the Ice sealed the win with a fourth down stop by Corey Sample and a Randy Bell 41-yard run in the last 10 seconds of the game.
The deep ball was a key for the Ice offense as quarterback Willie Copeland had three 44-yard+ touchdown passes. Two of which were on the first plays of the possession to Kyle Kaiser and Jasonus Tillery. Copeland had 209 yards total with four touchdowns. Tillery went on to be this game's receiving leader with 119 yards and two touchdowns total.
The defense started the game with their fast-paced determination like they have had this season. Dequinta Jones had a third down intercepted pass on the Danger's first possession and later he had another blocked pass on a Danger third down. They also only allowed one touchdown in Nebraska's six possessions of the first half.
The Danger only completed 4 of 13 third downs and had a total of 233 yards. Michael Eby had the other Ice interception. Markell Carter was named this week's Runza Player of the Game with six tackles, one sack and two tackles for a eight-yard loss.
The Ice travel to Wyoming next Friday May 30 to take on the Cavalry at 7:05pm. Their next and final home game is Saturday June 7 against the Green Bay Blizzard.
