Colorado Crush News Release
(Fort Collins, CO) - The Colorado Ice are proud to announce that former defensive back, Derek Douglas, has been resigned for the 2011 season by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.
Douglas came to the Ice for the 2010 season after a prolific collegiate career at Tuskegee University. Douglas only played in nine games for the Ice, accumulating 35 tackles, 1 interception, and 4 pass break-ups.
Douglas' accomplishments in college and with the Ice, garnered a lot of attention from various leagues; eventually leading to him signing a contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats during the middle of the 2010 season. Douglas had his season cut short by a season ending knee injury; but had shown enough promise to earn another opportunity to prove his worth in Hamilton.
The Colorado Ice return to Majestic Field at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO; Friday, May 20th at 7pm to face the Tri-Cities Fever. Get your tickets by calling the Colorado Ice at 970-472-0128, by going to the Budweiser Events Center Box Office, calling 1-877-544-8499 or going online to www.comcasttix.com.
