EAST HARTFORD, CT - May 27, 2011 - The Hartford Colonials signed offensive lineman Michael Ola to a contract for the 2011 United Football League season. Terms were not disclosed.
Ola played 44 games (33 starts) at Hampton University the last four years and was a teammate of Colonials offensive lineman Ryan Cave.
Ola (6-3, 302) participated in an open player tryout May 21 for the Colonials and Virginia Destroyers. He is the third player from an open tryout that Hartford has signed, joining safety Jacob Patek (Hawaii) and defensive end Craig Marshall (South Florida).
The Colonials have 53 players under contract for 2011.
