
Colonials' Duarte Sold To Marlins

DURHAM, NC - The Can-Am League announced today that the contract of Pittsfield Colonials OF Jose Duarte has been sold to the Florida Marlins.
In four games with the Colonials, Duarte collected four hits, including two doubles, scored two runs and drove in one. The Venezuelan signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Kansas City Royals in May of 2004. He spent the previous six seasons in the Royals organization before joining the Colonials this season.
This is the first player purchased from the league during the 2010 season.
