Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - On the eve of the team's West Division Semifinal pres. by Honey Smoked Fish Co., the Colorado Mammoth announced that defenseman Tyler Codron has been named the inaugural winner of the Jay Jalbert Award as voted on by fellow players. The honor will be presented annually to the "ideal teammate who exemplifies selfless play and commitment and dedication to his team" while serving as a superior leader within the National Lacrosse League.
"He's a great teammate," said assistant captain Cam Holding of Codron. "You can ask him anything, he'll talk about anything. Tyler's funny when things are relaxed; he's serious when things are serious. He's a very entertaining, very light-hearted guy and a truly genuine person."
The six-year veteran was a free-agent signing by the Mammoth in December.
Codron will now appear on the ballot as the Mammoth representative for the league's inaugural NLL Teammate of the Year award which will honor a player who best demonstrates teamwork and leadership qualities and leads by positive example through on-floor performance, motivation of team members, and dedication to community activities and charitable causes.
Tickets to Saturday's playoff game are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office and online at AltitudeTickets.com.
