Cobras Sign WR/DB Aundrae Harris

CHARLOTTE ­ The Carolina Cobras announced today that they have signed WR/DB Aundrae Harris and signed OL/DL Blaine Mensch from their practice squad in preparation for Saturday night's game against the Arizona Rattlers in Phoenix.

In other transactions, the Cobras waived DS John Barnes, OL/DL Jerness Gethers and FB/LB Glen Mitts, released WR/LB Van Johnson and activated and waived DS Buddy Crutchfield from the injured reserve list.

Harris played in nine games with the Arizona Rattlers and New Jersey Gladiators in 2002, recording a combined 19.5 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups. He appeared in one game for the Las Vegas Gladiators this season and also spent time on the Arizona Rattlers roster before being waived on April 9. Harris started games as both a wide receiver and defensive back at the University of California from 1997-99.

Mensch appeared in nine of the Cobras first 10 games before being waived on April 9 and signed back to the team¹s practice squad on April 11. He has recorded 1.5 tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery this season.
