West Texas Roughnecks News Release

Odessa, Texas. The National Indoor Football League officially announced it's 2005 schedule in Lafayette, Louisiana today, including a 15 game Odessa Roughneck season. Part of the new Central Division in the Pacific Conference, the Roughnecks share this space with former IFL rivals the Lubbock Lone Stars and the San Angelo Stampede. The two-conference league will allow the top team in each of it's six divisions a spot in the playoffs along with two wild cards.

Due to the change in leagues, the Ector County Coliseum reserved game dates for the Roughnecks beginning in late April, not the beginning of March as used by the NIFL. This leaves the Roughnecks playing four games on the road prior to coming home for the "Season Premiere" game on April 23rd. A total of nine different teams from six different states will kick-off against Odessa in 2005 making the team's sophomore season look to have a national flare and a higher caliber of football. With home games marked in all CAPITAL LETTERS and in BOLD, the complete schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 5 at Beaumont Drillers
Saturday, March 26 at Lincoln Capitols
Friday, April 1 at Fayetteville Heat
Monday, April 18 at Corpus Christi Hammerheads
SATURDAY, APRIL 23 VS MIAMI MORAYS
SATURDAY, APRIL 30 VS LOUISIANA SWASHBUCKLERS
