BALTIMORE, MD (April 7, 2010) - Fresh off a bye week and I am rejuvenated and reenergized. It's always nice to be able to get away from football for a couple of days during the season. My priorities are Faith, Family and then Football. Spending time with my family over this past Easter weekend, kept everything in perspective. When you come back, it is with new set of eyes, reestablished goals and a stronger sense of purpose.

Though we have won, we have not had the consistency on offense and defense that I would like to see at this point in the season. The players know that as well. The maturity of this team is the one thing that has set it apart from the 2009 squad. As individuals, and as a team, they are aware of the areas that they need to continue to improve in. Our previous game against Richmond served as a positive wakeup call; every team will be bringing their best to beat us.

As a staff, we continually preach about improving the small things, simple fundamentals. You play how you practice. You play how you prepare. Our priority is to work on us, not against our opponent. If we are fundamentally sound in all three phases of our game, the outcome of the contest will take care of itself. Confidence and swagger does come from yapping like a Chihuahua. It comes from working hard and preparation. Bear Bryant once said, "It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference."

Five of our next six games will be on the road. Each game will be a contest and we will embrace those challenges one game at a time. We must win on the road to establish ourselves atop the East. We must control our own fate. What other teams do versus another team cannot be our concern. To be a championship caliber team, you have to prove it on the road.

The Eastern Conference of the AIFA continues to improve across the board. The competition is strong. Though they have yet to win a game, New Jersey is improving as a ball club. Our focus is on our own improvement. That will not change. Going 4 - 0 simply means we have won four games; nothing more and nothing less. Lou Holtz explains it best, "If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven't done anything today." We have unfinished business and our goal is simple; win our conference and win the AIFA championship. We'll see you on the road.
