In the contest, Sylvester Cuyler of the Red Roses and Charles Jones of the Lumberjacks established and tied a CBA record with 10 personal fouls apiece. The 1979-80 season was the CBA's first under the No Foul-Out Rule, which exists today. Instead of sitting down after a sixth foul, a player can remain in the game, although his team is assessed with a technical foul if he commits a seventh or additional foul.
