Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - July 9, 2007 - With summer at the halfway point, the scouting season for Skyrockets Head Coach Chris Daleo is in full swing. Daleo is currently checking out players at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The annual event marks the start of NBA action, the first time draft picks like Greg Oden can be seen playing in a NBA uniform. The summer camp gives NBA teams an opportunity to test out the new draft picks and some free agents vying for a permanent roster spot with their respective team. Fourteen NBA teams will compete in the Summer League, playing a total of 29 games over the 10-day exhibition.

Coaches and scouts from the CBA and overseas leagues are attending the event to look for prospects for their own teams. Many players who get cut from the summer rosters will find a home overseas or in the minor leagues, and perhaps in Minot. "It's good to come out here and see some new talent, to look for players that will help us bring a championship team to Minot. I've checked out the USBL games and the Portsmouth Invitational. Now I'm here to see some more players; I will leave no stone unturned. I will continue to look for the right player to fit our needs to get us to that championship," said Coach Daleo.

The NBA Summer League runs July 6-15, and the Rocky Mountain Revue will be July 13-20. The Rocky Mountain Revue is another summer league that features rosters from 7 NBA teams. Kevin Durant, the 2nd overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, will be playing for the Seattle SuperSonics at the Revue.

The Skyrockets are continuing to prepare for the 2007-2008 season, and season tickets for the season are currently available. Season ticket holders receive a reserved seat for all 24 home games and additional benefits including discounts on tickets and team merchandise, invitations to team events, and exclusive e-mails game statistics and player profiles. Information regarding tickets is available online at www.MinotSkyrockets.com or by calling 839-SLAM.
