Lincoln Haymakers News Release

Lincoln, NE - Lincoln Haymakers completed the two game series sweep of the rival Omaha Beef Friday night inside the Pershing Center. Lincoln's 67-56 conquering of the Beef improves the Haymakers record to 5-5 on the season and just one spot out of the playoff race as they travel to Salina to take on the Bombers Friday Night.

Quarterback Chuck Wright hit 14 of 19 for 168 yards and 5 touchdowns on the evening leading the Haymakers explosive offensive attack. Running back Travis Ribbing had multiple punishing runs laying the lumber to Beef defenders on his way to a net of 127 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Late in the game, Ribbing and the Offensive line's ability to pick up critical first downs eventually sealed the Haymakers win. Nick Rhodes' 4 Touchdown receptions on the evening continued to show his promise as arguably the best wide receiver in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.

Another sound performance by the Defensive unit lead by Linebacker Jesse Robertson who amassed 7 total tackles and an interception on the evening. The Haymakers held the Beef to only 43 rushing yards and benefited from 3 takeaways.

Lincoln must win out at this point for playoffs to be a reality as they face the Salina Bombers (6-3) this Friday in Salina, KS. Salina still has to play Lincoln, Omaha, and Wichita again this season which if they lose 2 of those games and Lincoln wins out both teams will be set at 7-5 with Lincoln earning the tie breaker. Lincoln must win out against Salina (6-3) and Bloomington (4-6) in order to position them for a playoff run.

The Lincoln Haymakers Players, Coaches, and Staff would like to thank the Lincoln community for the continued support again this season. Friday night marked Lincoln's final home game in the Pershing Center moving their record to 4-2 at home this season.
