Los Angeles Aftershock News Release

Clay Tucker is frustrated and took it out on the SPL NBA Pros Thursday at the Summer Pro League. The All ABA first team guard made his summer league debut with 27 points, including 4 of 6 behind the NBA arc, leading the Los Angeles Aftershock to its second win at the SPL. AJ Diggs was superb, dominating with the ball and passing it, keying the Aftershock transition with 20 points and 13 assists.

Tucker had a short team shoot around and some diagrammed plays to work from as he took the floor. The Aftershock played without several key players, including Darwin Carter, Will Burr and Corey Williams. Head Coach Andre Smith got plenty of support from Scott Freymond and Chip Connor, as they both added the needed offensive surplus.

Los Angeles led early behind two three pointers from Charles Litt and 8 points from Diggs. The run continued off the bench as Tucker and Freymond combined for 13 points as Los Angeles led 31-21.

Connor added a 6 point run to start the second quarter while Diggs ran the team perfectly to a 55-45 half-time lead. Tucker dominated the third on the scoreboard and the glass, adding 9 points and 4 rebounds. Two highlight reel slams by Connor helped Los Angeles take a 78-63 lead after three period.

The final period was a showcase of Diggs playmaking, the balanced play of Aftershock bench and the big play ability of Tucker. Diggs dashed and dished, Freymond had two big time transition baskets while Tucker hit two game clenching three pointers as the ABA Aftershock won their second SPL game 106-94.

Tucker finished with 27 points and 5 rebounds, while Diggs added 5 rebounds to his 20 point, 13 assist game. Connor finished with 13 and Freymond rounded out the Aftershock in double figures with 10 points. The Aftershock play again Saturday at 515 PM MST. The game can be heard at www.laaftershock.com.
