September 28, 2019 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, N.S - 6'7", Power Forward, CJ Washington has signed a new contract with the Halifax Hurricanes for the upcoming NBL Canada season. Washington is the second player announced this week that played for the team during the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons.
During the two seasons, Washington put up a total of 1004 points with the Hurricanes and averaged 7.47 rebounds a game. Last year, he took a season off to recover from a knee injury.
"It's a great story to be able to have CJ Washington back in a Halifax uniform. He has worked hard to overcome a serious knee injury and get his basketball skills back in form for the upcoming season," says Head Coach Mike Leslie. "Prior to his injury, CJ was one of the premiere big men in the league with the ability to score inside and from the perimeter. It's been a long road back but when healthy, CJ can dominate a game inside."
The Halifax Hurricanes will be entering their fifth season as a member of the NBL Canada. Season Memberships for the upcoming 2019-20 regular season are on sale now.
