Cincinnati's Sam Fiore named Player of the Week in the Professional Arena Soccer League

Cincinnati Kings Sam Fiore was named Player of the Week in the Professional Arena Soccer League today in an announcement from the PASL.

Fiore was instrumental in the Kings' win over rival Louisville Lightning, 11-9, in which he scored three goals during the match.

Cincinnati Kings defeat Louisville Lightning, 11-9

Goals rained like New Year's Eve confetti for the Cincinnati Kings tonight as they defeated the Louisville Lightning, 11-9, in the first match of 2011 in the Professional Arena Soccer League. The win keeps Cincinnati in first place in the Eastern Division of the PASL with a 7-1 record.

Led by Xavier product Sam Fiore who scored a hat trick, the Kings also saw goals from Jeff Hughes (2), Kwame Sarkodie (2), Drew Ducker, Garrett Buck, Jeff Henderson and Matt Breines.

The Cincinnati Kings next home game is Friday, Jan. 14, 7:35 p.m. against the Detroit Waza at the Cincinnati Gardens.

Kings travel to the west coast for two important matches

The Cincinnati Kings will travel to California for two matches. On Saturday, Jan. 8, they will face the San Diego Sockers (6-2) at 9:15 p.m. (EDT). Fans can catch the action live at www.sdsockers.com. On Sunday, the Kings will meet the California Cougars (1-6) at 6:05 p.m. (EDT).
