
Cincinnati Kings to Play Minnesota Thunder

CINCINNATI (April 13, 2006) - The Cincinnati Kings will take on the Minnesota Thunder in a preseason benefit match on April 14 at Xavier University at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Kings ticket office at 513-721-KING or at the box office before the game.
The match, organized by the Kings and Classics Hammer FC soccer organization, is to benefit the Weidner family who lost their 10 year-old son Michael suddenly on January 19, 2006 to an as yet unknown cause. Portions of the proceeds from the match will be given to the family.
The Minnesota Thunder compete in the United Soccer Leagues First Division, one division above the Kings. In 2005, the Thunder finished with a 7-11-10 record.
The Cincinnati Kings will begin their 2006 season in the USL Second Division at the Charlotte Eagles on April 21. The Kings play their first home match May 5 against the Western Mass Pioneers. All homes games will be played at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
