CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Kings lost their home opener Saturday night to the expansion Cleveland City Stars, 2-1, in United Soccer Leagues Second Division action at the Town and Country Sports Complex in Wilder.

The game was a scoreless tie until the second half, when former Cincinnati King Jack Cummings scored an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute. Four minutes later the Kings tied the game on a Romain Cherulin goal, with the assist by Rainy Florent. But the City Stars took the lead for good in the 77nd minute on a goal by Derek Pottenger, with the assist from Cummings.
